The Chairperson of the Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA), Hon. Stanley Kiptis, and the Authority’s CEO, Dr. Alice Kande, delivered keynote addresses during the official launch of the Certificate of Registration for the Business and Hotel Management School (BHMS). The event, held in collaboration with Boma International Hospitality College (BIHC), took place on 17th July 2025 at the Boma Hotel in Nairobi.

The ceremony marked the formal recognition of BHMS as a foreign awarding institution accredited to operate in Kenya through BIHC—an esteemed centre of excellence in hospitality and culinary arts.

In his remarks, Hon. Kiptis emphasized the importance of aligning international qualifications with the Kenya National Qualifications Framework (KNQF). He reaffirmed KNQA’s commitment to promoting quality, comparability, and mutual recognition of qualifications across borders. He also commended the BHMS–BIHC partnership for enabling Kenyan learners to access globally recognized credentials locally, thereby advancing the vision of “global education, local delivery.”

The event brought together key stakeholders from the Kenya Red Cross Society, the hospitality industry, institutions of higher learning, and various government agencies. It highlighted the value of strategic partnerships in enhancing workforce readiness, particularly in high-growth sectors such as hospitality and tourism. The initiative aligns with national development goals focused on skills development, improving employability, and internationalizing Kenya’s education landscape.

KNQA also used the occasion to spotlight the forthcoming launch of the National Qualifications Database (NQD)—a digital platform designed to promote transparency, traceability, and verification of qualifications in Kenya.

In conclusion, the Chairperson encouraged other institutions to adopt similar collaborative models that promote innovation, uphold quality standards, and enhance the global competitiveness of Kenya’s education and training ecosystem.

We understand the importance of approaching each work integrally and believe in the power of simple.
