  • Growing a Greener Future: KNQA and Stakeholders Unite for Tree-Planting at Dandora Secondary

Today, the Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA), in collaboration with the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), and the KASNEB Foundation, held a tree-planting ceremony at Dandora Secondary School as part of the nationwide initiative to combat climate change in line with the Kenyan Presidential directive to plant and grow trees. The event brought together 1,600 high school students, CEOs of the participating organizations, and sections of their staff, united in their commitment to environmental sustainability. KNQA CEO, Dr. Alice Kande, addressed the students, emphasizing the importance of education and skills development in building resilient communities capable of addressing climate challenges. She highlighted KNQA’s mandate of promoting accessible and quality qualifications that equip learners with knowledge and skills for sustainable development. Dr. Kande urged the students to view tree planting not just as an environmental activity, but as a responsibility to safeguard their future and contribute positively to the nation’s growth. #ShapingTheFutureOfKenya
