  • Education CS Tables KNQF Regulations Before National Assembly Committee

The Cabinet Secretary for Education, Mr. Julius Migos Ogamba, today met the National Assembly Committee on Delegated Legislation led by Hon. Samwel Chepkonga at Bunge Towers for a post publication scrutiny of the KNQF (General) Regulations, 2025.
The CS was accompanied by the KNQA Council Chairperson Hon. Stanley Kiptis and KNQA CEO Dr. Alice Kande.

During the meeting, the Cabinet Secretary formally presented the published Regulations to the Committee. The proposed Regulations are designed to give full effect to the provisions of the KNQF Act, Cap. 214, and to strengthen Kenya’s qualifications landscape.

The Regulations set out a comprehensive structure for classifying and defining qualifications at different levels through the Kenya National Qualifications Framework. They further provide provisions for the determination and placement of qualifications within the Framework—an initiative aimed at promoting portability, mobility, and recognition of qualifications both locally and internationally.

Other key provisions of the Regulations include Credit Accumulation and Transfer, Recognition of Prior Learning, Registration of Qualifications, and the establishment of a central repository of all qualifications in the country through the National Qualifications Database.

We understand the importance of approaching each work integrally and believe in the power of simple.
