PUEA | 21-23 October 2026: The Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) has undertaken a three-day technical assistance exercise at the Presbyterian University of East Africa (PUEA) from 21–23 October 2026, aimed at facilitating the registration of the university’s accredited programmes and the upload of graduate records to the National Qualifications Database (NQD).

During the engagement, KNQA led by the Director General/CEO, Dr Alice Kande provided technical guidance to the university’s team on the qualifications registration process and the submission and management of graduate data. The exercise also sought to strengthen PUEA’s institutional capacity to comply with the applicable requirements for documenting qualifications and learner achievements.

The engagement is part of KNQA’s ongoing efforts to support Qualification Awarding Bodies (QABs) in implementing the Kenya National Qualifications Framework (KNQF) and promoting systematic registration and documentation of qualifications awarded in the country.

National Qualifications Database

The registration of qualifications and submission of graduate records to the NQD are important steps towards establishing a comprehensive and reliable national repository of qualifications and learner achievements. The database enhances the visibility and verifiability of qualifications, supporting their recognition and helping to build public confidence in Kenya’s qualifications system.

Through technical assistance and collaboration with institutions of higher learning and other qualification-awarding bodies, KNQA continues to promote quality assurance, transparency and accountability in qualifications management. These efforts also support the recognition and portability of qualifications, as well as learner mobility and progression across education, training and employment pathways.

The engagement with PUEA represents the continued collaboration between KNQA and qualification-awarding institutions in strengthening compliance with the KNQF and safeguarding the integrity of Kenya’s qualifications system.

KNQA remains committed to supporting institutions in meeting qualifications registration and data submission requirements, contributing to a credible, quality-assured and globally competitive qualifications framework.

We understand the importance of approaching each work integrally and believe in the power of simple.
