The Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) Council, led by Chairperson Hon. Stanley Kiptis, together with Council Members and part of the Management team, recently participated in the 27th Board Master Class (Special Edition) organised by the Institute of Corporate Governance of Kenya (ICGK) at Sawela Lodge, Naivasha.
The high-level governance programme brought together board leaders and senior executives to enhance institutional leadership, strengthen oversight, and deepen understanding of emerging governance trends and best practices in the public sector.
During the intensive training, participants engaged in comprehensive discussions on governance excellence, corporate strategy and performance, financial management and reporting, risk management and compliance, public procurement, strategic decision-making, human capital governance, policy development, and effective board and committee management.
The programme provided KNQA leadership with practical insights and contemporary governance approaches aimed at enhancing accountability, transparency, and institutional effectiveness. The sessions also emphasized the critical role of strong governance structures in driving organizational performance and delivering sustainable impact.
Participation in the Board Master Class reflects KNQA’s continued focus on strengthening leadership capacity, promoting ethical governance, effective decision-making, and fostering a culture of strategic excellence that supports the realization of the Kenya National Qualifications Framework (KNQF).
The KNQA leadership reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the highest standards of corporate governance in the execution of the Authority’s mandate of coordinating and harmonizing qualifications in Kenya. The Authority remains committed to building resilient governance systems that inspire public confidence, support innovation, and contribute to shaping a future-ready qualifications ecosystem for Kenya.
