KNQA Council Members’ Visit to the Authority Headquarters
On May 15th, 2025, the Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) hosted members of the KNQA Council for an official visit aimed at appraising the Council on the Authority’s ongoing activities and inspecting its assets. The visit was led by Dr. Alice Kande, the Director-General of KNQA, alongside members of the Senior Management Team.
The Council Members toured key departments, including the National Qualifications Database Department, where they were briefed on the implementation of the Kenya National Qualifications Framework (KNQF). Emphasis was placed on the standardization and international recognition of academic qualifications.
The delegation also visited the Alignment and Validation Department, observing live demonstrations of the Kenya National Qualifications Alignment and Validation Portal designed to streamline qualifications verification. This technology was highlighted as a critical measure in combating academic fraud.
Additionally, the Council inspected the Administration Office, where a comprehensive overview of the Authority’s physical and technological assets was provided. Dr. Kande outlined KNQA’s commitment to best practices in operational efficiency and asset management.
The visit concluded with a debriefing session in the Executive Boardroom, where the Council commended KNQA for its transparency, governance, and effective management of resources. The Director-General reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to maintaining high standards and delivering on its mandate. #ShapingTheFutureOfKenya
