The Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) joined education and training stakeholders at the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) 30th Anniversary Conference, held from 7th to 9th October 2025 at the Radisson Hotel & Convention Centre, O.R. Tambo, Johannesburg, South Africa.
The conference, themed “Celebrating 30 Years of the South African Qualifications Authority: The Establishment, Evolution, and Future of the South African NQF,” brought together global thought leaders to reflect on key milestones in the development and implementation of qualifications frameworks over the past three decades.
KNQA Director General, Dr. Alice Kande, participated in the opening panel session alongside Ms. Nadia Starr, CEO of SAQA, and Ms. Pauline Radcliffe, CEO of the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF). The panel, themed “The Evolution of the NQF,” explored the challenges, successes, and emerging opportunities in implementing national qualifications frameworks across diverse contexts. Discussions underscored the importance of adaptability and inclusivity in ensuring that education and training systems remain relevant and responsive to changing global needs.
Through this engagement, KNQA continues to strengthen collaboration with regional and international qualifications frameworks, reaffirming its commitment to advancing the Kenya National Qualifications Framework (KNQF) and promoting qualifications recognition, comparability, and learner mobility across borders.
