Port Louis, Mauritius, 30 September 2025 – The 6th African Continental Qualifications Framework (ACQF) Continental Forum is opening today under the theme “Building Future-Ready Qualifications Systems for Africa.”

Dr. Alice Kande, CEO of the Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) and ACQF Troika President, leads the opening ceremony of the 6th ACQF Continental Forum Opening in Mauritius. Honourable Dr. Kaviraj Sharma Sukon, Minister of Tertiary Education, Science and Research of Mauritius, and Prof. R. Mohee, Commissioner of the Higher Education Commission – Mauritius, delivered keynote addresses emphasizing the significance of a harmonized Qualifications Framework for African Countries for learning and labour mobility across the continent.

This Forum’s key focus areas are strengthening continental collaboration, addressing academic fraud, promoting the Global Academic Integrity Network (GAIN), and unpacking national micro-credentials frameworks. Its main objective is sustaining and strengthening the ACQF and its Qualifications Credentials Platform (QCP).

Also present in the forum are ACQF Troika presidency members Ms. Nadia Star, CEO of the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), and Ms. Mercy Ngoma, Director General of the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA), together with representatives from UNESCO, the European Training Foundation (ETF), national qualifications agencies, and delegations from across Africa.

Running until 2 October, the Forum is expected to generate actionable recommendations for building credible and future-ready qualifications systems across the continent.
