On 26th August 2025, the Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) held a consultative meeting with the Centre for Parliamentary Studies and Training (CPST), a directorate of the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC).
Under the leadership of its CEO, Prof. Nyokabi Kamau, CPST is mandated to enhance the capacity of Members and staff of the National Assembly, the Senate, and County Assemblies, as well as other governance stakeholders. The Centre fulfils this mandate through training, curriculum development, research, webinars, and strategic partnerships—such as its collaboration with the University of Nairobi in offering postgraduate programmes in leadership.
The meeting focused on KNQA’s role in supporting the registration of CPST as a Qualifications Awarding Body (QAB) and facilitating the accreditation of its short courses, which are instrumental in strengthening professional competence and leadership across Kenya’s parliamentary and governance systems.
